A I-C Robert R. Poole
Toccoa - December 25 - Airman 1-C Robert Ray Poole, 22 year old Stephens 
County man, was killed Saturday in an airplane crash at Moses Lake, Washington.

Airman Poole was stationed at Larson Air Base, Washington, and was on his way 
home to spend Christmas.

He was born February 22, 1930, in Stephens County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Luther Poole, who survive him.  He graduated from Toccoa Falls High School, 
and was a member of the Carnes Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers and four sisters; 
Swain and Reeves Poole, both of Toccoa; Mrs. Bill Meeks, Mrs. Owen Goode, Mrs. 
Bill Crawford and Miss Opal Poole, all of Toccoa.

The body will arrive in Toccoa Saturday at 4 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Carnes Creek Baptist 
Church.  The Rev. John Moore, in association with the Rev. Fred Ellenburg, the 
Rev. Channing Hayes and the Rev. W. E. Brown, will officiate.  Burial will be 
in the Union Hill cemetery in Banks County.

The body will be at the residence of the parents in the Carnes Creek 
community, with Fred Northcutt Funeral Home in charge.
