Mrs. Leacy G. Bell, 93, of Rt. 1, Ellaville, died Sunday, February 15, 1998 at 
Sumter Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were planned for Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at 
the Ellaville United Methodist Church with Rev. Asbury Walton officiating.  
Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery.

Mrs. Bell, a lifetime resident of Schley County, was born April 11, 1904 to 
William Henry Grantham and Marinda Duke Grantham.  She was the mother of 
fifteen, of whom eight survive.  She was an active member of the Ellaville 
United Methodist Church for many years until recently when failing health 
prevented her from attending.  She was a member of the Ellaville American 
Legion Auxiliary also, The Schley Ones in Ellaville.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Tyler of Americus, Mrs. 
Marilyn Sue Gurley of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. Laura Jean Bennette of 
Sandestin, FL ; five sons, Bill Bell of Americus, Garry Bell and Randall Bell 
of Ellaville, Boyette Bell of Whigham and Richard Bell of Camilla; one sister, 
Mrs. Winfred Roselle of Winter Park, FL; also twenty nine grandchildren, fifty 
three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  She was 
preceded in death by her husband E. Horace Bell, two daughters, Myrtle and 
Gail, and five sons, Eugene, Marvin, Jerry, Samuel and Mickey.

Grandchildren will serve as both active and honorary pallbearers for their 
grandmother.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville is in charge of arrangements.
