W. J. Roberts Rites Thurs.
Final rites for Willie James Roberts, 55, of Macon, will be held Thursday,
January 8, at three PM at C. Homer Adams Chapel and interment will follow in
Northview Cemetery.
Officiating minister will be Rev. Earnest Thompson of Macon and Adams Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be members of Plumbers
Union Local 472 of Macon, Ga.
Mr. Roberts, a former Dublinite and grandson of the late Mrs. M. B. Childers,
was born and reared in Monticello, Ga. and moved to Dublin in 1911 where he
lived until 1937. He was engaged in the Plumbing business, was a Veteran of
World War I, a member of Plumbers Union Local 472 of Macon, and a member of
the First Christian Church of Macon. He had resided in Macon for the past 10
years. He died Tuesday, January 6 in a Dublin hospital, following a long
illness. He was married to the former Katie M. Tyson and she survives him.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. C. (Joyce) Webster, South Bend
Ind. and Mrs. Gladys Morris, Macon; one granddaughter, Anne Marie Morris,
Macon; mother, Mrs. J. R. Roberts, Dublin; two aunts, Mrs. J. W. Mathews and
Mrs. Maude Bankston, Dublin; one uncle, Dock Childers, Eastman; and a number
of cousins and other relatives.
Additional Comments:
Willie James was born 16 Mar 1897. Georgia death certificate #1605. He is
Buried in Section N, Row 18 at Northview Cemetery.
