        Pauline G. Bailey Taylor, 89, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000.
        A native of Hebron, Md., Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late
     Levi and Estella Tradder Bailey and was the widow of Clifton
     Taylor. She was of the Methodist faith.
        Memorial services will be held at a later date.
        Survivors include sisters; brothers; two grandchildren; nieces
     and nephews.

        Alice Heard of 2908 Heardmont Road died Monday, March 13, 2000.
        Miss Heard was a daughter of the late Willie and Annie Allen
     Heard. She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Grove Baptist
     Church with the Rev. Bascoe Jackson officiating. The body will be
     placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in the church
     cemetery.
        Survivors include a sister, Anna Lee Allen, Elberton.

                        Robert R. ''Bob'' McLanahan

        Robert R. ''Bob'' McLanahan Jr., 77, of 61 Oak St. died Tuesday,
     March 14, 2000.
        A native of Elberton, Mr. McLanahan was a son of the late Robert
     R. Sr. and Hassie McMullan McLanahan and was the widower of Jo
     Maxwell McLanahan. He was a member of Elberton First United
     Methodist Church and the VFW. He was a retired truck driver for the
     Mason Dixon Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
        Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elberton First United
     Methodist Church with Dr. Wallace E. Wheeles officiating. Burial
     will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
        Survivors include a daughter, Laura Turbiner, Conyers; a son,
     Robert M. McLanahan, Flowery Branch; three sisters, Betty Jane
     Giannoni and Rose Ann Thompson, both of Elberton, and Madge
     Oglesby, Athens; two brothers, Neal McLanahan, Elberton, and David
     McLanahan, Gainesville, Fla.; and two grandsons.
        The family is at the residence of Joe and Betty Jane Giannoni,
     1277 Crestview Drive, Elberton, and will receive friends from 7-9
     p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home.

     Avenue Baptist Church.

     granddaughter, Katie M. Woodward, Tallahassee, Fla.

        Cliver ''Bill'' Ivester, 78, of 99 Brookhaven Drive died
     Tuesday, March 14, 2000.
        A native of Stephens County, Mr. Ivester was a son of the late
     Andy and Sarah Jane Thomason Ivester. He was a U.S. Air Corp
     veteran of World War II and was retired from United Airlines after
     40 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Mount Vernon, Va.,
     Eastern Star, International Association of Machinists, and Toccoa
     VFW Post 4346.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home,
     Toccoa, with the Rev. Kenneth Moon officiating. Burial will be in
     Stephens Memorial Gardens with Toccoa Masonic Lodge 309 in charge
     of graveside services.
        Survivors include his wife, Sue Cole Ivester; and a son, Ronald
     Ivester, Alexandria, Va.
        Pallbearers will be Everage Thomas, Jewell Payne, Ivan White,
     Charles Terrell, Fred Dooley and Carl Gunn. Honorary escort will be
     Stephens County High School Class of 1941 and Clemson Hardee's
     Breakfast Bunch.
        Memorials may be made to the Stephens County Unit of the
     American Cancer Society.
        The family is at the residence in Clemson and will receive

        Alda Ann Cunningham, 65, of 545 Grand Ave. died Wednesday, March
     14, 2000.
        A native of Habersham County, Miss Cunningham was a daughter of
     the late George Perry and Annie Gertrude McCrackin Cunningham. She
     taught school at South Habersham and Habersham Central high schools
     and retired from the Habersham County school system after 40 years.
     She received an educational specialist's degree from the University
     of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi and Delta
     Kappa Gamma Teachers sororities. She was a member of Three Arts
     Club, Habersham Historical Society and Cornelia First Baptist
     Church.
        Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Cornelia First Baptist
     Church with the Revs. Marcus Martin, Richard Scoggins and Warren T.
     Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
        Survivors include a niece, Dr. Cary Perry, Athens; three
     nephews, George P. ''Geep'' Cunningham III, Toccoa, Thomas A.
     ''Tac'' Cunningham, McDonough, and Thomas H. Cunningham Jr.,
     Cornelia; grandnieces and nephews; and a great-nephew.
        The family is at the residence of Elizabeth H. Cunningham, 574
     Grand Ave., Cornelia.

     George Benjamin Brazell. She was a graduate of Irmo High School,
     where she was a member of the Beta Club. She was a member of
     Cornelia First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the
     Couples Sunday School Class and Helping Hands. She was a former
     member of the Georgia Gem Society and was a child care provider.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cornelia First Baptist
     Church with Dr. T. Logan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Yonah
     Memorial Gardens.
        Survivors include her husband, Rudy Curley; two daughters, Betty
     Klein, Atlanta, and Gail Ellis, Charleston, S.C.; three sons, Carey
     Brazell, Cumming, George Brazell, Winnsboro, S.C., and Bill
     Brazell, Lexington, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; and 12
     great-grandchildren.

     Lee Carithers Sr. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian
     faith.

     the Rev. Gregory W. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine
     Cemetery.
        Survivors include a daughter, Tracie Carithers Tuggle,
     Jefferson; a son, Danny Lee Carithers Jr., Jefferson; three
     sisters, Linda Highsmith, Gainesville, Dolores Dunn and Donna
     Farmer, both of Winder; a brother, Larry Thomason, Bogart; two
     grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

                                Hazel Elder

        Hazel McRee Elder, 93, of 1851 McRee Ginn Road, died March 14,
     2000.
        A native of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late John
     O. and Harriett Marshall McRee, and the widow of James Lamar Elder.
     She graduated from Oconee County High School and the Georgia State
     College for Women in Milledgeville.
        Mrs. Elder taught in several schools in Morgan and Oconee
     counties for a number of years. Later, she was employed by the
     Oconee County Welfare Department, before spending many years with
     New Way Laundry as an accountant.
        Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, 2000, at 3:00 PM
     at Johnson United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Murphy and Walter
     Pledger will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
        Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, William Carroll
     and Nell McRee of Athens; many nieces and nephews.
        Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
        The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until
     8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
        In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson United
     Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
