        A native of Clarke County, Mr. Dowdy was a son of the late
     Aldozia Sr. and Annie R. Burgess Dowdy. He was employed by Star
     Construction Co.
        Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church
     with the Rev. B.S. Jackson officiating. The body will be placed in
     the church at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial
     Cemetery.
        Survivors include two sons, James Dowdy Jr., Athens, and Tyrone
     Dowdy, Chattanooga; four sisters, Cherry Dowdy, Rosa D. Bell, Mary
     Faust and Joann Turner, all of Athens; two brothers, Larry Dowdy
     and Aldozia Dowdy Jr., both of Athens; four grandchildren; nieces

        Louie J. Caudell, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000.
        A native of Banks County, Mr. Caudell was a son of the late
     Pitner L. and Decie Coker Caudell. He was retired from Lumite
     Corporation as a beamer operator with 271/2 years of service and
     was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran
     of World War II and was a member of Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home,
     South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Roy Rogers and Gene Todd
     officiating. Burial will be in Damascus Baptist Church cemetery.
        Survivors include his wife, Martha Gary Caudell; a daughter,
     Patti Y. Chambers, Baldwin; four sisters, Christine Ivester,
     Cornelia, Bernice Andrews, Dewy Rose, Doris Comer and Bonnie Goza,

     son, Bobby Powell. He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Co.

        Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sardis Baptist Church
     with Dr. Dan Vincent officiating. The body will be placed in the

        Survivors include his wife, Frances McMullan Powell; a son, Rick
     M. Powell, Augusta; four sisters, Christine White, Hartwell, Ruth
