        A native of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Hayes was a daughter of the
     late Claude Chatham, and was the widow of Mack Hayes. She was a
     homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home
     with the Rev. Willard Baxter officiating. Burial will be in
     Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross.
        Survivors include two daughters, Betty Manning, Winter Park,
     Fla., and Brenda Turner, Talledega, Ala.; three sons, Bobby Hayes,
     Buchannan, Hollis Hayes, Doraville, and Mike Hayes, Winder; a
     sister, Cora Majors, Cumming; a brother, J.J. Chatham, Canon; five

        A native of Barrow County, Mrs. Milsap was a daughter of the

        Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gum Springs Baptist
     Church, Jefferson, with the Rev. M.C. Teasley officiating.
        The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be
     in the church cemetery.
        Survivors include daughters, Rose and Tonya Milsap, both of
     Statham, Eve Milsap, Bogart, and Tasha Milsap, Gainesville; three

     and Beulah Jones Lay. He was a member of Summer Hill Baptist

        A native of Lexington, Mr. Bridges was a son of the late Wattie
     Davis and Annie Lee Noell Bridges, and was the widower of Lucy R.
     Bridges. He was self-employed as a barber and was a member and
     Deacon of the New Holland Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ivie Funeral Home with
     the Rev. James D. Cool officiating. Burial will be in Jackson
     Memorial Park.
        Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Lee, Charlotte, N.C.; four

     Myrtle Ioma Davis Johnson, 100, of 5424 Woodruff Farm Road, died

        A native of Dahlonega, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late
     Bill and Callie Davis, was the widow of Lieutenant Colonel Albert
     Sidney Johnson, and was preceded in death by two infant daughters.
     She was a graduate of North Georgia College, a school teacher, and
     a world traveler. She was a member of the Noon-Time Club and
     Milledge Avenue Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery,
     Dahlonega, with the Rev. Robert D. Green officiating.
        Survivors include a daughter, Bonnita Richmond, Coconut Creek,
     Fla.; a son, James Johnson, Columbus; seven grandchildren; 10
     great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

     Eaton, and was preceded in death by a son, Emerson Eaton. He was a

                             Dr. James A. Green
                                  Athens 
                                      
     Dr. James A. Green Jr., 89, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999. He was
     born in Clayton, Ga. October 28, 1910, the son of Dr. and Mrs.
     James A. Green. He graduated from Rabun County Schools in 1928,
     from North Georgia College in 1932 and Emory University Medical
     School in 1937. Dr. Green interned and had his surgical training at
     Grady Hospital in Atlanta where he was chief surgical resident in
     1940-1941. From 1941-1945 he served in the medical corps of the
     army air forces being discharged with the rank of major.
        Dr. Green began his practice in Athens in 1945. He served on the
     staff of both St. Mary's and Athens General Hospital, also serving
     both hospitals as chief-of-staff. He was medical consultant for
     many years at Athens Vocational Rehabilitation Office. He was a
     member of the American Medical Association, Medical Association of
     Georgia and the Crawford W. Long Medical Society. He was a fellow
     of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomat of the American
     Board of Surgery.
        He was honored by the Heart Association in 1996 and received the
     fifty year pin of service from the Medical Association of Georgia.
     Dr. Green was also a member of First United Methodist Church of
     Athens, a charter member of both Athens Country Club and Athens
     Touchdown Club and a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
        Dr. Green is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen, sons James
     A. Green III and Bob Green of Athens and daughter, Ann Moseley of
     Dawson, Ga., brothers John Green of Athens and Albert Green of
     Clayton, sister, Marjorie Smith of Clayton, six grandchildren and
     two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
        Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at 11:00
     a.m. at Oconee Hill Cemetery with Reverend Wesley Stevens and
     Reverend Grady Wiggley officiating.
        In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United
     Methodist Church of Athens, P.O. Box 1109 Athens 30603-1109, the
     YMCA of Athens, 915 Hawthorne Ave., Athens 30606, or to the charity
     of your choice.

     Garvin Collins, and was preceded in death by two sons, James Marvin
     Collins and Ben Arnold Collins. She was a homemaker, a former
     Sunday school teacher, and former member of the Home Demonstration
     Club. She was the oldest member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church with
     the Revs. Neil King, David Sosebee and Dennis Rafala officiating.
     Burial will be in Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
        Survivors include a daughter, Vera Robinson, Toccoa; three sons,
