Marie L. Tharp 
April 15, 1915 - September 28, 2004



Marie L. Tharp (Marie L. Elam), 89, of Stockton, passed away in a local 
hospital on Tuesday, September 28, 2004. Marie lived in Tucson, AZ for over 50 
years and moved to Stockton, CA, four years ago after the loss of her beloved 
husband, Arthur P. Tharp. She was born April 15, 1915, in Witton, South Dakota 
to Durfy Boxley and Mary Elizabeth Bridgman. Marie retired from Hughes 
Corporation in 1975, to take care of her mother. She and Art traveled worldwide 
and Marie loved to share stories of their travels. She was a loving sister to 
Martha McLaughlin, Charles Boxley and Gould Boxley, all deceased. She is 
survived by a daughter, Dixie L. Kinley of Escondido; granddaughter, RoseMarie 
DuQuette and her husband, Gary; grandson, Gerald P. Nogues and his wife, 
Cheryl; great grandchildren, Serena E. Simonich, Samara Martin and Tawny 
Collins. She will be laid to rest with her husband Art in the San Joaquin 
Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. 
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 4, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. 
Luke Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter St. A recitation of the Rosary will be 
held Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California 
St. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of 
Northern California, 105 S. Washington St., Lodi, CA 95240 or American Cancer 
Society, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stkn., CA 95204.
