Robert Roy Sousa Sr. 
Feb. 19, 1921 - Dec. 1, 2004



Robert "Bob" Roy Sousa Sr., died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at home at the 
age of 83 years. He was born in Stockton, California on February 19, 1921, to 
Joe and Edna Sousa. A 1939 graduate of St. Mary's High School and a United 
States Navy veteran serving in World War II. A lifelong Stockton resident, he 
was a member of Stockton Kiwanis, American Legion, Junior Chamber of Commerce, 
past president of Oak Park Little League, and founding member and past 
president of the West Fremont Industries. Bob was a general contractor, co-
owning Sousa's Awning with his brother, Joe until the 1970's when he began Mod-
U-Room. He loved working with wood and made beautiful furniture. He loved 
vacationing at Monterey and Silver Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jeannette; his three children, 
Robert R. Sousa Jr., his wife Terry, of Woodbridge, Thomas C. Sousa, of 
Stockton, and Candice Sousa, of Walnut Washington, Chantelle Sousa and Thomas 
R. Sousa of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Nicole Sousa and Philippe Sousa of Lodi; 
two great-grandchildren, Nina Hoover and William Benjamin Hoover, and numerous 
nieces and nephews. 
There will be no services. A private family memorial will be held on Saturday. 
There will be no visitation. Private committal. 
Memorial donations may be made in Bob's memory to Alzheimer's Association, 
Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter, 2065 West El Camino Real, 
Suite C, Mountain View, California 94040-2217 or charity of the 
donor's choice.
