Luther V. Rice, 82, of 1895 W Flora, a resident here 53 yrs and a native of 
Colusa, died today in a local hospital. 

Mr Rice was an operating engineer at Stockton State Hospital for 18 yrs before 
retiring in 1951. He was in the wholesale plumbing supply business before 
joining the hospital staff. 

Mr Rice and his wife, Dulcie, were married in San Francisco in 1906 and went 
through the earthquake and fire. They would have celebrated their 61 st 
anniversary Jan 09. 

Surviving besides his wife, are three sons, Luther E. and William T Rice both 
of Sacramento, and Robert R. Rice, San Francisco; three daughters, Mrs Viola 
Sanders of Fresno, Mrs Betty Mendonsa, of Stockton, and Ella Mae Oliver of 
Santa Rosa; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. 

Funeral arrangements were pending at the B.C. Wallace & Son Funeral Home.
