Edmundson Cemetery dates from the late 1700's. Cemetery is believed to have been part of the original pioneer Edmundson Family Farm, being mentioned in the deed dated 25 Oct 1813 in which the Edmundson family bought the farm from William Sill. The cemetery was again mentioned in an 1858 deed for mining rights to the area, in which the cemetery is excluded from the sale.
The cemetery was taken well care of through the early 1900's. The last known caretaker was John McClure until he died in 1943. Since that time, the cemetery has fallen into disrepair. There have been several attempts by scout troops over the years to rehabilitate the site, which met with limited results. Cemetery is now abandoned, overgrown, and in complete disarray. All of the tombstones have been toppled, and are laying on the ground, half sunken into the dirt.

This photographic survey and inventory was taken 17 Feb 2009, and represents all of the identifiable tombstone markers that could be located at the site.

Mary Fey graciously contributed several photos she had taken in the year 2000, but which were not found in the 2009 survey.

John Barna contributed several names he had recorded in his 1965 transcription, but which were not found in the 2009 survey.

In June, 2009, Jim Edmundson, a descendant of the Edmundson family, contributed additional photographs taken in 1992, but which were not found during the 2009 survey.

Ellen Ballas contributed names from obituaries of individuals that indicate burial in Edmundson Cemetery, but which were not found in the 2009 survey.
