Norman Charles "Charlie" McDonald Photos From Bennington OK

The dates are from about March 1910 to June 1910.

The man in the four pictures was my great uncle, Norman Charles "Charlie" McDonald. He was born in 1886 in Lillington, Harnett County, NC but had a roaming streak. In November 1909 he decided to visit our LA and TX cousins, whom no one had ever met. He went to Union Parrish, Spearsville and Bernice, LA and the surrounding area. From there he went on up to Bennington, OK. He went to MN to marry, back to Iowa and finally ended up in Tacoma, WA, where he died in 1945.

He sent these back to his family from that visit to OK.

The lady in the white dress was Ida Claire Van Auken (in three pictures). None of these three pictures have dates; all on post card stock.

The lady in the dark dress is unknown. The date on the postcard says June 18, 1910. It reads: "This photo was made the 20th of last March on top of the Sugar Loaf Mt. This lady got married last Wednesday". (The spelling was a mess: fhota, Sugar Loal Mounting, ladi.) Post card stock.

The group picture shows Charlie on the bottom left. None of the folks are identified. The note on the back reads: "This March 13, 1910. Bennington, Okla. (Cardboard stock)
