These monuments are located on land once owned by my great grandfather George Washington Keys. It is reported in family records that 6 individuals may be buried here, but only two memorials remain.
Directions to cemetery: Take Ohio Rt. 243 easterly from Coal Grove. In Deering, approximately 4.5 miles from Coal Grove, turn left (north)on County Rd. 6, also called Deering Bald Knob Rd. just before you reach the Pizza Shop and elementary school. (The roads curve all over the place)about 2.7 miles north from Rt. 243, you will pass County Road 53 which is on your left side, Immediately next turn right (south) on township road 266. This is also called Rock Camp-Deerfield-Allen Rd., The map shows Keys cemetery almost a mile south and on the right side or west side of road.It is NOT directly on the road. You have to go way up the Elliott's private driveway. Please contact Tom Keys and obtain the phone number of the land owner before visiting. I can't publish their phone number here for obvious reasons. You must call ahead before you visit the cemetery, which is in their front yard. Tom & Gail Keys report that the family is very nice and will meet/guide you.
