Only two memorial stones remaining at this location, also know as Diehl Cemetery. This cemetery is situated on what was the property of Jacob Diehl, in the mid 1800's. The atlas of 1876, showed his name as land owner, actually he had died two years prior to the date of the published map. To find this cemetery, go east from Laurelville on state route 56 to Haynes, Ohio. Turn right (south) on Twp. road 397 (Election House Rd.), travel this road until you see signs for Twp. Road 181 (Diehl Rd.) Turn right, travel for a short distance and turn left at the next road, Twp. Rd. 179(Sam's Creek Road). Watch for two memorial stones located just past the first residence, cemetery located way off the road in a small glen, on left side of road. This cemetery is nicely cared for by the Salt Creek Township Trustees.
