Cottingham, This is the only part of my great grandfathers stone that is left.. His name was George Waltham Cottingham. He was born December 6, 1833 in Lincolnshire, England. He came to America in 1869 with his wife Elizabeth Larder Cottingham and six children. He became an American citizen in 1879. After Elizabeth's death he married Mrs. Valerie Vashti Waller Erwin who died in 1901. He died in Delta, Ohio February 7, 1902. Valerie is also buried in Old Delta, but her tombstone has been destroyed.
Cottingham, Elizabeth, wife of Geo. Cottingham, died Jan. 3, 1872, aged 36yr. Elizabeth Larder was the first wife of George Waltham Cottingham.. She was also born in Lincolnshire, England. Her stone says 1872, her death record says 1871. In any case she died of Consumption at a very early age.
