"Jack" and Maria Louise Dean Jones. Jones Services to be Held Today (Richard Turpin Jones 11/4/1866 - 11/27/1945 m. Margaret (Maggie) Alsippa Stone 12/1876- Oct. 19, 1955) Funeral services for Richard T. Jones, 79, lifelong resident of Anderson County , who died at his home on South Main Street yesterday morning at 3:10 o'clock following an illness of two weeks, will be held from the family residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Dr. F.C. McConnell will conduct the services and burial will be in Silver Brook cemetery. Mr. Jones was a son of the late Jack H. Jones and Louisa Dean Jones, members of well known families of this section of the state. He was born and reared at the Jones homestead just south of the city, and spent practically all of his life in and around Anderson. Mr. Jones was a member of the Flat Rock Baptist Church, and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of relatives and friends who are saddened by news of his passage. Surviving Mr. Jones, who was a retired farmer, are his widow, Mrs. Maggie Stone Jones, two sons and seven daughters as follows: Raymond C. Jones and Sam D. Jones, both of Anderson; Mrs. Mamie Wooten of Broxton, GA; Mrs. Guy Snow, Mrs. Madge Clements, Mrs. Julian King, and Mrs. Nell Poole, all of Anderson; Mrs. Jeter Ducker of Miami, Florida, and Miss Winnie Jones of Winston-Salem, NC. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Active pallbearers will be Marshall Jones, James Jones, Keaton Jones, Frank Elrod, Billy Trammell and Bobby Trammell. Composing the honorary escort will be S.M. Jones, Dean Jones, Robert Nicholson, C.R. Stone, Austin Elrod, and I.O. Kay. The body will be in state at the residence until the hour of the services.
