Georgia Thomas, 76

Georgia "Georgie" M. Thomas, 76, Rathdrum, died Oct. 29, 2004, at Sacred Heart 
Medical Center in Spokane. She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Martin, S.D., to 
Arthur J. and Mary Jane (Black) Buckmaster. Her family moved to Sagle in 1935 
and she grew up there.

In 1948 she met Dale Thomas and on June 10, 1949, they were married in Hayden 
Lake. Georgia and Dale started their family in Rathdrum and after several 
years, Georgia began working as a nurse's aide at Coeur d'Alene Homes. She also 
worked at the Owl Cafe for a while and she and Dale ran a tack shop in Rathdrum 
for several years. She enjoyed horses and horseback riding as well as riding 
motorcycles and snowmobiles. She enjoyed traveling with Dale.

She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Rathdrum; daughters, Marcyna Barrett 
of Post Falls, and Thayla Mickelson of Spirit Lake; son, Ronnie Thomas of 
Eugene, Ore., and grandchildren, Ron and John Barrett, Shannon Moore, Mike and 
Chris Browning and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
parents and her brothers and sisters.

A family service was held. Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, was in charge of 
arrangements.
