Priest River Times Priest River, Idaho Dorothy Ada Salmon, 95 Dorothy Ada Salmon, 95, passed away at the Newport Community Long Term Care on Aug. 1, 2004. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on Oct. 31, 1908 to Ernest and Ada Frances (Lloyd) Smedley. The family moved to Victoria, British Columbia where she attended schools, and by the mid 1920's they moved to Washington State. On Nov. 22, 1930, she married Roscoe L. Post in Port Angeles, Wash. Dorothy worked in the meat department at Tradewell Supermarket's in Port Angeles and Seattle. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the women's Group in Port Angeles. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano and organ, china painting, needlework, and gardening. In 1964, her husband Roscoe passed away. On Oct. 13, 1972, she married Rudolph Salmon in Seattle. After his death in 1977, she moved to Pend Oreille County to be near her children. Survivors include a son and daughter, Richard R. (and Sylvia) Post and D. Jeane DeWaide, all of Newport, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, one sister, Vera Lundberg of Port Angeles, and two nieces and nephews. No public services will be held. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
