Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Lillian C. Meyer, 89 Lillian C. Meyer, 89, Coeur d'Alene, left us on Nov. 18, 2004, to reunite with her husband, Ed. She was born in Gohner, Neb., on July 13, 1915, to Frederick and Clara Bertram. "Lillie," as she was affectionately known to her caregivers, grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa. She left there in 1941 and moved to Southern California to be with her sister. While living at the Lutheran Hospice, she met her husband, Edwin Freerick Meyer. They married July 23, 1942, in Los Angeles. Ed and Lillian raised their four children in Fullerton, Calif., after moving there in 1954. She and Dad have many close friends from their days at the Hospice. Lillian worked as an office manager for a medical facility until she retired in 1977. She was a very active member of the Lutheran Church until she became ill in 1996. At that time she moved to North Idaho nearer to her family. She was happiest when she was with her friends and family, and dedicated her life to making those around her feel needed and loved. Lillian has four children: Patricia and son-in-law Terry Gibbons of Brea, Calif., daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Peter Finney, Bayview, son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Wendy Meyer, Mankato, Minn., and son Martin Meyer, Coeur d'Alene; grandchildren Tonya Finney, Post Falls, Bradley Finney, Bayview, Ashley Spencer, Post Falls, Noah Meyer, Moscow, Jennifer McNamara, Yorba Linda, Calif., Christopher Meyer, Coeur d'Alene, Kelly Berg, Minnesota, Andrew Meyer, Minnesota, and Timothy Meyer, Minnesota; step-granddaughter Marisa Piazza; 10 great-grandchildren; and close friend Sue Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, who passed away Jan. 3, 1990, and granddaughter Christina Finney, June 1, 1995. Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Nov. 22 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif., on Nov. 29.
