Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Frances Kryger, 88 Frances Grismer Kryger, 88, died in Portland on July 18, 2004. She was born in Mullan on June 25, 1916, to William and Theresa Grismer, one of six children. As a young child, she moved to Coeur d'Alene, where she had been a life-long resident. Frances graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in 1933 and married Arthur Kryger on June 4, 1938. They had six children: Gene of Coeur d'Alene, David, Albany, Ore., Kathy McGowan, Portland, Suzy Miller, Spokane, Kit Kryger, and Kristina Evens, both of Portland. Frances worked for the Kootenai County treasurer and Dr. Cohen. She also worked for Dr. Joseph Grismer of St. Thomas Catholic Church, with which she was active in both the Catholic Daughters and Altar Society. She also volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul and Birthright and was a member of Mother's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, reading and shopping. Frances is survived by all six of her children, 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Viola Rondeau and Adelyn Enquist, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death in 1981. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. July 22 at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d' Alene, which is handling arrangements. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. July 23 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. Thomas Cemetery, both in Coeur d'Alene.
