At the time of her death, she was with her husband, David, daughters Sandy Griffitts and Heidi Martin, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Chris Kane, and granddaughters Meagan and Tawni Griffitts. Ingrid was born in Koln, Germany, to Peter and Elly Arenz on Jan. 25, 1945. She attended school and became a German/English interpreter working for a large German company, until she came to the United States in 1964. Ingrid lived and worked in Minnesota, where, on Aug. 3, 1972, she and David were married. They subsequently lived in Minnesota and North Dakota until 1976, when they moved to Coeur d'Alene, when Dave started work for the Idaho State Police. She enjoyed crocheting, and there are many children and adults in Idaho who have one of the afghans she so lovingly made. Ingrid enjoyed her family and always put others first. She was particularly upset that her recent illness caused the disruption of so many lives, but it was our turn to put her first. Ingrid is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters Sandy Griffitts and son-in-law Alan, Hayden lake, Heidi Martin and son-in-law Jim, Hayden Lake; son Mike and daughter-in-law Chris, Lewiston; mother Elly, Lewiston; grandchildren Brad, Meagan, Tawni and Tyler Griffitts, Cody and Macey, Samantha and Hannah Kane, Nick Robinett, Cassidi and Jessie Martin. She also leaves many friends who will mourn her death. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Vassar-Rawls Chapel, 920 21st Ave., Lewiston. Private burial will follow at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston.
