Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Wilma Howells, 88 Wilma R. Howells, 88, Coeur d'Alene, died Saturday, July 24, 2004. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d' Alene, who is in charge of arrangements. Burial at Riverview Cemetery, Coeur d'Alene, will follow the service. She was born Sept. 26, 1915, near Colorado Springs, Colo., where she lived for 70 years. She had been a resident of Coeur d'Alene for the past 18 years. Wilma graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs in 1932. She worked as a governess in Denver for several years, before marrying Edwin " Ted" Howells in 1939. She was a homemaker extraordinaire and her family was the center of her life. Wilma also enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, crocheting, humor and wit, and corresponding with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tim Christie of Coeur d'Alene, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shelly Howells, Spokane; nephew and wife, Ray and Judy Looper, Spokane; great niece, husband and daughter, Nicole, Art and Rebecca Jacobson, Spokane; great-nephew, wife and children, Craig, Jill, Derek and Jessica Looper, all of Carnation, Wash.; extended family includes Jeff Christie, Coeur d'Alene, and his children, Dezi and Jonathon; and life-time friends Chuck and Dickie Massara, Pueblo, Colo.
