Priest River Times Priest River, Idaho Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Steven L. Freeman, 59 Steven L. Freeman, 59, passed away July 5, 2004 at the Newport Community Hospital after a long battle with lung cancer. Steven was born July 17, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas. After graduating high school he joined the United States Marine Corps for four years. Steven served in Vietnam with the 12th Marine Corps district 100 of San Francisco, Calif. Steven received the Good Conduct, Purple Heart, and the Vietnam service medals. Steven married his wife Gloria Lynn Thomas on May 25, 1985 in Topeka, Kansas. Steven enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Gloria of Priest River, Idaho, sons, Jack Freeman of Lacy, Washington, Steven Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, Edward Childs of Reno, Nevada; Steven had four grandchildren. Also surviving are his parents, Fred and Leola Walliser of Sparks, Nevada and two brothers Marvin Epling of Florida and Jack Epling of Federal Way, Washington. Steven was preceded in death by Marvin Eugene Freeman. A potluck service of remembrance will be held at noon on July 17, 2004 at 497 Pineview Lane, Spirit Lake. A memorial service will be held at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada. Aug. 9, 2004.
