Floyd Alman Flory
1919 ~ 2004

Floyd  Alman  Flory,  85,  Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully in his
sleep  at  his  home  June 9, 2004, his family and faithful dog, Rex, at his
side. At his request, there will be no formal service. 

Floyd  was  born in Eureka, Montana, March 13, 1919, to Earl and Susan Flory
and  grew up as one of eight children in Bonners Ferry during the Depression
years.  From  1942  to 1945, he served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific
during World War II.

During  his  life,  he  held  many  careers;  police officer in Los Angeles,
California,  chief of police in Benton City, Washington, carpenter, plumber,
watchmaker and jeweler.

He  retired  from the Yakima Firing Center in 1986, and bought a small farm,
where he resided with his wife and raised a few hobby farm animals.

He was always a tinkerer, and enjoyed fixing things around the place.

Floyd  is  survived  by his wife, Lois; sons Chet Flory, Spokane, Hank Reno,
Richland,  Washington,  and  Michael  Flory,  Selah,  Washington;  daughters
Michaele  Thompson and Cheryl Myers, both of Yakima; grandchildren Frank and
Terri  Englebert,  both  of Yakima; brothers Alvin Flory, Bonners Ferry, and
Delbert Flory, Spokane; and his faithful border collie, Rex.

He  was  preceded  in death by his parents, brothers Earl, Lester, Ralph and
Edward Flory, sister Violet Sprague and daughter Patricia Flory.

Floyd  will  return  to  his  boyhood  home  June 19, and he'll be buried at
Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
