(Metcalf) Dickinson, 65 Carolyn Mae Dickinson, 65, Ehrenberg, Ariz., passed away July 17, 2004, in Blythe, Calif., after a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Spokane, to parents, the late Forrest and Tressa Metcalf. Carolyn was raised in Coeur d'Alene by her uncle and aunt, the late Jack and Alta Martin. In 1954, on her 16th birthday, she married the love of her life, Jerry, in Coeur d'Alene, and became a mother and homemaker. She began working for GTE in 1969 in Coeur d'Alene and retired from the Everett, Wash., office in 1993. Jerry and Carolyn transferred to Everett in 1972, 1993 found them in Lubbock, Texas, and in 1995, they settled in Ehrenberg, Ariz. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry; daughters Jacqueline ( Steve) Ryals, Lubbock, Texas, Teri (Sterling) Gibson, and Geri Bly, Everett, Wash.; brother Louis (Diana) Metcalf, San Dimas, Calif.; grandchildren Sally (Allen) Price, Sgt. Cris (Jaime) and PFC Dustin McKenzie, Lindsey, David, Jacob and Becky Bly, and Krystal Dobbins; great-grandchildren Kadin and Killian McKenzie, and Alexander Price. There are also numerous other relatives and friends who held a special place in her heart. Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Jerry (Jay) R. Dickinson Jr. At her request, the immediate family will hold a private memorial service in Ehrenberg.
