Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Clifford Clark, 89 Clifford Clark, 89, passed away at his home in Coeur d'Alene on Aug. 15, 2004. Cliff was born in St. Paul, Neb., on July 18, 1915. He was afflicted with polio at age 6 and lived at the Lincoln Hospital until he graduated from the University of Nebraska Teachers College High School in 1933. Cliff graduated from Nebraska State College with a degree in accounting in 1937, at which time he went to work as an auditor for the state of Nebraska. He moved to Bozeman, Mont., in 1939. He was employed by the Deaconess Hospital until he became partners in the accounting firm, Clark, Stiff & Kirchhoff. Cliff retired in 1972 and traveled with his wife, Martha, across country for the next six years. Cliff and his wife settled in Coeur d'Alene in 1978. Cliff was an avid follower of the stock market. He loved to travel, explore new ideas and try new things. He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents. Cliff is survived by his wife; daughters and their husbands, Nanci Clark-Hawkins and Ken Hawkins, Coeur d'Alene, Niki Clark and Ian Curry, Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Heather Barajas, Jeremy Belnap, Coeur d'Alene, Heidi Crump, Big Fork, Mont., Jeremy Hawkins, Rathdrum, Heather Hawkins-Clark, Post Falls, and Shelby Hawkins, Gig Harbor, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Delia, Rilee, Christopher, Casey, Nathan, Kole and Masin. Cliff was an inspiration to all who knew him. His kindness, strength and character were felt by all who met and knew him. He was a devoted husband, exceptional father and grandfather. He will be missed by all. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Aug. 19 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d'Alene, where he was a member. Burial will follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens, Coeur d'Alene. A reception at Christ the King Lutheran Church will follow the burial.
