Priest River Times Priest River, Bonner County, Idaho James William Cahill, 72 "Jim" James William Cahill, 72, of Newport, Wash., died Nov. 5, 2004, in Newport. He was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Helen (Cassell) and John Cahill. He grew up and was educated in Brooklyn. In 1953 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two years during the Korean conflict. After his honorable discharge, he worked 30 years for IBM before his retirement. Jim and his wife, Vicky, resided in Newport for the past 10 years, moving from Brooklyn, N.Y. Jim was a Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Newport. He also enjoyed reading and spending time on the family farm. He is survived by his wife, Vicky; three sons, Bobby, Matthew and Donald Cahill; and five daughters, Ann Cahill, Irene Dorney, Geralynn Cuevas, Beth Minogue, and Ellen Klingler; and 11 grandchildren, all in New York. He is also survived by a sister, Peggy Young of Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Newport. A military inurnment will follow at the Newport Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
