Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Rex King Cadwalader, 21 Rex King Cadwalader, 21, passed away on Sept. 25, 2004, in a tragic fishing accident on the Cowlitz River at the Mossyrock Dam area in southwestern Washington. He left this earth doing "one" of the things he loved most in this world -- FISHING! I would like to tell you all what Rex Cadwalader meant to me. Rex was my best friend, mentor and Big Brother. He would never let a friend down, nor would he leave one behind. I know, because Rex is my HERO! We were so excited to be able to fish together, when tragedy hit. Rex had nothing but concern for my safety. Rex, without so much as a thought for himself, struggled to help me fight the river current and we both were swept down. I thought this might be my end, but out of nowhere, Rex pushed me to safety and saved my life. He made the most courageous decision -- to put my life in front of his own. That is my definition of a hero. Rex was a kind man. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He did not look at people to see the bad in them, only the good. Rex loved his family, his Mom and Dad were his life. He had two sons whom he dedicated everything to. He had compassion for people and loved to tell stories. He loved to laugh and smile because I don't think there was a time when Rex could not smile. Rex was the most honorable man I knew. Everyone who knew Rex was blessed in their own way. Rex is survived by his parents, Mike and Tammie Cadwalader; sons Dustin, 2, and Marx, 1; and his loyal companion, "Puritan," a black pitbull. Rex has a large family and extended family and friends. Rex was born and grew up in Coeur d'Alene, and has touched so many hearts. -- Dedicated by Eric Winters, 16, of Coeur d'Alene Services are pending and will be published at a later date. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
