Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Melanie Caputo, 43 Melanie Sue Caputo, 43, Post Falls, passed away Oct. 21, 2004, at Valley Hospital in Spokane, following a long bout with diabetes. She was born June 21, 1961, in San Jose, Calif., the daughter of Harmon and Barbara Johnson. Melanie attended St. Christopher School in San Jose, as well as Archbishop Mitty and Willow Glen High Schools. She is survived by her son, Casey Flint, age 13; her parents; as well as brothers Gordon, Paul, Kenneth, Geoffrey and Ben Johnson; sisters Debra Wirth and Bonnie King. Melanie worked as an executive secretary for various electronic manufacturing companies in the San Jose area, such as Thorne EMI and Tandem Computers, until moving to Idaho in 1998. She continued to work in the Coeur d'Alene area until illness forced her to quit. However, Melanie did not quit her role as an exemplary housewife and mother. She attended Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls. Melanie was very deeply loved by all the members of her large family and she returned that love in every way she possibly could. Requiem Mass will be 9:30 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls. Burial will take place 9 a.m. October 30 on the Pala Indian Reservation in California.
