Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Bob Birdsall, 77 In loving memory of Robert "Bob" Eugene Birdsall, who joined his Lord and savior Oct. 18, 2004, shortly after his 77th birth celebration with family. Bob was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Sidney, N.Y., to Archie and Vera Birdsall. In 1946, he left the farm and joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Hamilton Field in San Francisco until his honorable discharge in 1948. That same year, Bob met and married the love of his life, Lillian Chenette, while still stationed in San Francisco. He became a licensed contractor in 1955 and started Birdsall Construction in Mountain View, Calif. Bob brought his family to Coeur d'Alene in 1976 and started Birdsall Construction and Foundations with his sons. He was a proud father of nine children, 25 grandchildren and 19 beautiful great-great-grandchildren, who delighted him to the end. Bob was known as a gentle and patient man who always had a helping hand for anyone who needed it. An avid outdoorsman, he taught and shared his love for the outdoors with his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian; brother Allen Birdsall; children Robert C. Birdsall, Carol Abelow, Bruce (Debbie) Birdsall, Kathryn ( Gary) Halstead, Aurore (Bernie) Markell, Helen Eriksen, Barbara (Mark) Schvon, Archie (Jodi) Birdsall, Fred (Darcey) Birdsall. Services will be 2 p.m. October 22 at Blanchard Community Church in Blanchard.
