Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Pauline M. Benoit, 97 Pauline (Polly) Margaret Benoit died peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 21, 2004. She was born Jan. 31, 1907, in Greeley, Colo., to Gotleib Reigor and Ann Marie (Stroh) Reigor. Her mother died during childbirth later that year, and she was adopted by Fred and Amalia Weibert Brug, also of Greeley. Polly attended Greeley High School and Greeley State Teachers College. She married Joseph H. Benoit on Feb. 3, 1935, in Gehring, Neb. At the outbreak of World War II, they moved to California. Polly was a member for 48 years of the First Methodist Church in Inglewood, Calif. She joined Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and was an active member for many years. After many years of service, she retired from Hughes Aircraft. Later in life, she joined the P.E.O. Chapter HN and was a member until her death. Polly is survived by her son, J.B. Benoit, and wife Dorothy of Coeur d'Alene; granddaughter Renee Benoit-Shandley and husband John, Wellington, Colo.; grandson Joe Benoit and wife Lisbeth, San Clemente, Calif.; great-grandchildren Thomas Shandley, Jocelyn Shandley, Jentry Shandley, Peyton Benoit and Kelsey Benoit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, and her parents. Polly was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at Pacific Crest Cemetery in North Redondo Beach, Calif. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
