Priest River Times Priest River, Bonner County, Idaho Imogene Blanchard, 81 Imogene Blanchard, 81, of Blanchard, Idaho passed away Oct. 17, 2004 at her home, after a long battle with cancer. Imogene was born the daughter of Leonard L. Broaddus and Bertha Mae (Gilbert) Broaddus Nov. 4, 1922 in Amarillo, Texas. On May 29, 1943 she married Charles R. Blanchard in Oakland, Calif. They made their home in San Lorenzo, Calif. before moving to the Blanchard community over 27 years ago. Imogene was a talented woman. Her love for crafts and sewing are evident as you walk through the family home. Imogene also enjoyed traveling world wide with her family. She especially loved Rome and Venice, Italy and Paris, France. She enjoyed "snowbirding" to Southern California with her friends from Blanchard and Canada. She also enjoyed spending the winter months with her family in Wis., Calif.. and Texas. Her escapades in travel are legendary. She enjoyed all forms of dance; especially tap lessons with her friends from Stoneridge. Her passion for sewing included many persona gifts to her friends and family, as well as, the Vestments for St. Joseph's Parrish. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was the extraordinary wedding dress and costumes lovingly sewn for her granddaughter. She touched many people and will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends. Imogene is survived by her husband Charles of Blanchard, Idaho; two daughters, Claudia (Bernard) Schur of Sheboygan, Wis. and Suzanne Blanchard of Vallejo, Calif.; grand sons, Chuck (Kim) Schur, Timothy Schur, Michael (Andria) Schur, Richard (Leslie) Ruff, granddaughter, Heather (Justin) McAdoo, two great-grandsons, Hunter Ruff, and Carson Schur, a half sister, Annalee Sturn of Amarillo, Texas; a son-in-law, Richard Ruff, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas. Imogene is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne L. Broaddus of Albany, Ore. Rosary and visitation will be Oct. 21, 2004 at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Oct. 22, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Memorial contributions can be made in Imogene's name to the Northwest Cancer Center.
