Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Richard Sidney Bowlin, 67 Richard Sidney Bowlin, 67, Coeur d'Alene, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 8, 2004, at his home with his family around him, after many years of illness. As you read this that Richard is dead, don't believe it ... for in this moment he is more alive than he has ever been, for he is in the presence of God. Death is the Christian's greatest adventure. And now Richard truly knows what this is all about. Richard's desire was to always encourage and challenge those around him to know exactly where they stood with God and how they could make that relationship with Jesus Christ more intimate, real and meaningful. He was a bold man, often saying to others that he wanted to poke holes in the darkness by sharing truth about God, and asking questions that made one think of who God is to them. Richard often shared how God dearly loves each of us and wants our hearts. Temporarily left behind are Marsha Bowlin, his wife of 44 years; and three children and their spouses, Mark and Sidney Launder, Coeur d'Alene, Mark and Karen Bowlin, Hayden Lake, Bob and Shawna Johnson, Portland; and much loved grandchildren Tanden, Aimee, McKinsey, Jeffrie, Spencer, and one to come. We, his family and dear friends, will so miss him. We are grateful for all the years God kept him alive amidst his illness. And now we rejoice that Richard is in God's presence, giving God all glory and honor. Richard Sidney Bowlin was buried Nov. 17, 2004. We will miss you. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, was in charge of arrangements. Please visit Richard's memorial and sign his online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
