Ray Mac Buechner Kootenai Valley Press Submitted by: Muddypaw [muddypaw@onemain.com] 1933 ~ 2004 May 30, 2004 Funeral services were held at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home Chapel for Ray Mac Buechner, 71, Copeland, who went to join his loving wife of 41 1/2 years, Yvonne, on May 19, 2004. Burial followed in the Copeland Cemetery. Ray was born in Eden, California, April 26, 1933, to Claude and Marietta Buechner. He attended Moreno Elementary, Midland School, Perris Grammar School and Perris High School. In 1950, he joined the Army National Guard, and he and his twin brother, Raymond Mark, enlisted in the Navy in 1952. In 1956, he met Yvonne Elaine Woodworth and they were married September 27, 1956, in Corona, California. They raised eight children together. He served in Korea and Vietnam during his 22 1/2 years in the military, retiring for medical reasons in 1972. He attended Riverside Community College, where he received an associate's degree in refrigeration and air conditioning in 1977. In 1980, he moved his family to Copeland, where he purchased a farm where he resided until his death. He was preceded in death by his wife, twin brothers Edward and Edwin, brothers Clyde and Walter, one grandson and one great-grandson. He is survived by brothers Theodore, Robert, Charles, Raymond, John and Jim; sisters Katherine "Katie" Goad and Hazel Wheeler; children Dorothy and John Waddell, Nanette and David Bailey, Ray Buechner, Mark, Tammy and Terry Waddell, Ronald Buechner, Katie Buechner, Becky and Robert Waltering, and Nancy and Kevin Kemp; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
