Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Maynard Buck, 69 Maynard Thomas Buck, 69, Post Falls, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, surrounded by loving family members and close friends. Born March 16, 1935, in Grand Forks, N.D., to Nora Cecelia Margaret Morrison and Joseph Francis Buck, Maynard grew up the second oldest of his five brothers and five sisters in Badger, Minn. Later in 1949, he moved to Wentworth, Wis. His love for cars and mechanics led him to a career in truck driving, and later in life, a mechanic. In the early '60s, Maynard settled in Southern California, where he met and married his wife, Joyce Grimes Buck, and had 10 children. In 1981, he moved his family to Post Falls, where he and most of his family still live. For most people who knew him as just "Buck," they understood his love for cars, and especially Mopars. Maynard loved to meet his friends every morning at the coffee shop and talk cars. With his beautiful blue eyes, great sense of humor and a smile that easily lights up any room, he will be missed by all who knew him. Maynard is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Grimes Buck, and his 10 children and 17 grandchildren. Vigil service will be 7 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Sept. 30 at St. George's Catholic Church, Post Falls. Burial of the urn will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
