Priest River Times Priest River, Idaho Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Thomas James Arpin, 47 Thomas James Arpin, 47, recently of Newport, formally of Boise, passed away on Sept. 24, 2004, in a drowning accident on the Pend Oreille River, near Pioneer Park. He was born at Old Lyme, Conn., on July 16, 1957, the son of Marion Lois ( Vardner) and Earl Herve Arpin. At an early age, the family moved to Shelly, Idaho, where Tom graduated from high school in 1976. Tom first learned farming and ranching. He later worked as a builder and carpenter in construction, and in hardware stores in the Boise, Idaho area. He moved to Newport this year. He enjoyed boating, biking, roller blading, and being with friends and family. His family says nobody was a stranger to him and he was a very loving person. He gave of himself, even to his own detriment. They will sorely miss him. Survivors include his parents of Newport, three brothers, Michael (and Vickie) Arpin of Idaho Falls, Alfred (and Teresa) Arpin of Pocatello, and Earl Jr. (and Kay) Arpin of Boise; two sisters, Sandra and Deborah Arapin, both of Spokane; and several nieces and nephews.
