Richard Ammerman 2004 Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <> Submitted by: Kristy Taylor [muddypaw@onemain.com] Richard Ammerman, 78 Richard William Ammerman, the son of Claude and Lois Ammerman, was born March 24, 1926, in Spokane. He passed away in his home Aug. 7, 2004 in Cottonwood, Ariz., at the age of 78. Dick attended Coeur d'Alene High School, where he played football before proudly serving in the Marine Corps in Okinawa and Guam during World War II. He married Patty Swank and settled in beautiful Sandpoint, where he raised his family and enjoyed the outdoors. He spent much of his time hunting the mountains of North Idaho, fishing the waters of the Northwest, or relaxing and boating with his family from his cabin on the shore of Pend Oreille River. Dick was a vice president of First Federal Savings & Loan of Coeur d'Alene and served as the manager of the Sandpoint Branch from 1958 until his retirement in 1981. In the years since his retirement, he and his loving second wife, Jean, traveled extensively throughout the United States, finally settling in Cottonwood. Dick had two children, Stephen William Ammerman and Claudia Kay Tuppe. He is survived by his wife Jean; brother Don; daughter Claudia; stepchildren Rob, Jan and James; granddaughters Elly, Emily, Kelly, Jessica, Piper; grandsons John, Erik and Conner; great-grandchildren Davis and Ella Grace. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
