Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Robert Ainsworth, 78 Robert E. Ainsworth, 78, Coeur d'Alene, died Oct. 26, 2004, at Pinewood Care Center in Coeur d'Alene. He was born June 25, 1926, in Spokane, to Harold and Ruth (Wilsey) Ainsworth. After living in Spokane for a while, Robert's family moved to Moscow, where he graduated from high school. After high school, Robert entered the Navy, where he served his country for two years. After his discharge, he married Doris Packard on March 1, 1947. They made their home in Moscow, where he worked for Safeway until 1954. Later, Robert and his family lived in various parts of Washington and Idaho due to his jobs in the retail store industry. During that time, he owned his own Sears store in Gooding, Idaho. Robert retired in Coeur d'Alene at the age of 62 and they continued to live here. Robert enjoyed fishing, model trains, clocks, woodworking and crafting. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Ainsworth of Clark Fork; daughter Sherie Knadler, Coeur d'Alene; sister Rose Barbour, Mead, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Doris, in 1999, and son Jim Ainsworth in 1976. Visitation hours will be 5-8 p.m. October 30 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. November 1 at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
