Obituary of VAUGHN, DANIEL NORMAN 1949 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, January 13, 1949 Daniel N. Vaughn Daniel Norman Vaughn, 75, died at his home in the Picket Post section near Walhalla Tuesday night at 10 o'clock, following an illness of 48 hours. Mr. Vaughn is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lomar Duckett Vaughn; three daughters, Mrs. W. O. Ellenburg of Seneca, Mrs. Jane Martin of Seneca, and Mrs. Lloyd Rochester of Picket Post; two sons, J. B. Vaughn of Oconee Station and J. E. Vaughn of Walhalla; and 18 grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Albertson of Seneca and Mrs. Sue Holcombe of Toccoa, Ga., and one brother, Willie Vaughn of near Salem. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church Thursday at 11 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Ernest Sorrells, assisted by the Rev. M. J. Stansell. Burial was in the family plot adjoining cemetery with the Ansel Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Frank Lee, Frank Vaughn, Luther Williams, Will Taylor, J. Pink Vaughn and Luther Lipscomb. The honorary escort was composed of deacons of Pleasant Ridge Baptist church. Flower girls were Helen Chapman, Lois Rochester, Ruth, Ruby, and Edna Vaughn and Doris Ellenburg. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
