Obituary of THOMAS, JAMES A., JR. 1982 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, March 5, 1982 WALHALLA - James A. (Jimmy) Thomas, Jr., 41, 305 Lovingood Ave., husband of Mrs. Martha Wynne Thomas, died at Oconee Memorial Hospital, Wednesday morning. Born in Walhalla, a son of James A. Thomas, Sr. and Jeannette Morgan Thomas of 309 Playground Road, he was a retired employee of Cone Mills, served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and the Korean War, and was a member, of Walhalla First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife' and parents are a daughter, Miss Connie Thomas of Homestead Air Force Base, Fla.; two brothers, John R. Thomas of Pembroke Pines, Fla. and Danny Thomas of Walhalla; and a sister, Mrs. Joyce Queen of Vidalia, Georgia. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Davenport Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Richard Hawk and Randy Jordan. Burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
