Obituary of STANCIL, VIOLA CRUMP SUTTLES 1983 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, February 16, 1983 WESTMINSTER - Mrs. Viola Crump Suttles Stancil, 79, of Hobson Street, widow of Andrew Gar Stancil died Saturday at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Anna Minyard Crump. She was twice married, first to the late Fred Suttles. She was a retired textile employee with Chicopee Manufacturing Co., and a member of First Baptist Church and Ladies' Sunday School class. Surviving are sons, J.B. Suttles of Elon College, N.C., Fred Suttles Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; Jack Suttles of Greenville, and Furman and Ray Suttles of Macon, Ga.; daughters, Mrs. Ruby Estes of Greenville, and Mrs. Sara Dickson and Mrs. Betty Vinson of Westminster; sisters, Mrs. Otis Marritt and Mrs. Bert Putman of Greenville, Mrs. Frances Hawkins of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Pauline Fischer of Fairplay; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. John Compton, Crate Murphy and Gene Burdette.
