Obituary of SCHUMACHER, SNEAD  1990 Oconee, SC

  Walhalla---Snead Schumacher, 66, of 500 West North Broad St., husband of 
Jimmie Crofford Schumacher, died Sunday, March 11, 1990 at Oconee Memorial 
Hospital.  He was born in Walhalla, a son of Clara Snead Schumacher of Walhalla 
and the late George Deitrich Schumacher.  He was a graduate of Clemson 
University, a civil engineer, and owner and manager of Schumacher's Engineering 
Service.  He was a former member oF Walhalla City Council, served two terms in 
the House of Representatives and two terms as Senator from Oconee County.  He 
was a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge No. 92, AFM, a member of Hejaz Temple 
of the Shrine, a former member of the Walhalla Lions Club, a U. S. Army World 
War II veteran and a member of Lewis E. Blanchett Post 124 of the American 
Legion.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.  Surviving are his 
mother; his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Susan) Baxter; and four 
grandchildren.  Graveside services were at 4 p. m. Monday at St. John (sic) 
Lutheran Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor John L. Petry, III.  Davenport 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be made to St. John 
Lutheran Church, 301 West Main St., Walhalla, SC 29691.
