Obituary of SCHUMACHER, SNEAD 1990 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, March 14, 1990 Walhalla---Snead Schumacher, 66, of 500 West North Broad St., husband of Jimmie Crofford Schumacher, died Sunday, March 11, 1990 at Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was born in Walhalla, a son of Clara Snead Schumacher of Walhalla and the late George Deitrich Schumacher. He was a graduate of Clemson University, a civil engineer, and owner and manager of Schumacher's Engineering Service. He was a former member oF Walhalla City Council, served two terms in the House of Representatives and two terms as Senator from Oconee County. He was a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge No. 92, AFM, a member of Hejaz Temple of the Shrine, a former member of the Walhalla Lions Club, a U. S. Army World War II veteran and a member of Lewis E. Blanchett Post 124 of the American Legion. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving are his mother; his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Susan) Baxter; and four grandchildren. Graveside services were at 4 p. m. Monday at St. John (sic) Lutheran Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor John L. Petry, III. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
