J. Mayford Stancil
   Westminster- Joseph Mayford Stancil, 69, of 829 S. W. Lake St., Los Angeles, 
Calif., formerly of Westminster, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 1990, At Temple 
Community Hospital, Los Angeles.  Born in Stephens County, he was a son of the 
late Anderson Lam and Lucy, Mae Hembree He was a retired commercial builder, a 
US Marine World War II veteran and a member of Tugaloo Baptist Church, Toccoa.  
Surviving are son, Joe Stancil of Seneca; daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Gates of 
Monroe, LA, Mrs. Elaine Foster of Seneca and Mrs. Kristie Ritch of Charlotte, 
NC; brother , Jack Stancil of Los Angeles; sisters, Miss Mildred Stancil of Los 
Angeles, Mrs. Geneva Hardee of Westminster, Mrs. Sally Jacobs of Orlando, FL, 
Mrs. Colene Jackson of Columbia and Mrs. Martha DeBore of Bourne, MS; five 
grandchildren.  Services were Sunday, October 28, 1990 at The Sandifer Funeral 
Home Chapel by Revs. Charles Reichenback and Robert Thomas with burial in 
Tugaloo Baptist Church Cemetery, near Toccoa, GA.  Memorial may be made to 
Tugaloo Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Brenda Harbert, Rt. 2, Toccoa, GA 30577.
