John Schumacher Taken By Death
   John F. Schumacher, 73, of Walhalla, died suddenly Saturday at 10:30 a. m. 
at home.  Lifelong resident of Oconee county, son of the late Otto H. and 
Sophie Rieppe Schumacher, he was a retired merchant, member of the Blue Ridge 
Masonic Lodge 92, an overseas veteran of World War I, and member of St. John's 
Lutheran church.  Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Edna Harley Schumacher.  Funeral 
services were conducted Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church by Rev. John Koch, 
Jr.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were Snead, Bob and Henry 
Schumacher, H. D. Biemann, John J. Brandt and William F. Rochester.  Davenport 
Funeral Home was in charge.
