James A. Smith Succumbs Near Walhalla
    James Albert Smith, widely known resident of Oconee county, died at his 
home near Walhalla, Sunday afternoon.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena 
Reid Smith; five daughters, Mrs. K. P. Shaw, Mrs. S. P. Smith, Mrs. M. L. 
Cantrell, Mrs. George Edwards, and Mrs. DeWitt Snyder; six sons, William, 
James, John, Guy, Ralph, and Rudolph Smith; one sister, Mrs. Henry Ford; one 
brother, Warren A. Smith; 17 grandchildren.
