Singleton Rites At Westminster
   Mrs. Heppie Knox Singleton, widow of William A. Singleton, former 
Westminster mayor, died in Atlanta, Ga., Sunday afternoon.  Born in Oconee 
county, she lived here until six years ago when she moved to Atlanta. She was a 
former member of Westminster Baptist Church and was active in local affairs.   
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Chesley Wise and Mrs. Paul MacMeekin, both 
of Myrtle Beach, and Mrs. Hilton M. Fuller of Atlanta; five sons, Burt 
Singleton of Florence, Frank and Byron Singleton, both of Atlanta; W. A. 
Singleton of Murphy, N.C., and J. Knox Singleton of Springfield, Va.; three 
brothers, W. B. Knox of Westminster, Ben Knox of Mannassas, Va., Sam Knox of 
Fayetteville, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Graveside 
services were conducted at East View cemetery in Westminster Tuesday by Rev. 
David Templeton.
