Obituary of SHEPPARD, GROVER CLEVELAND  1940 Oconee, SC

    Funeral services for the late G. C. Sheppard, Sr. 56, well known Seneca 
business man and respected citizen who died at the Anderson County hospital 
Saturday following an illness of some length, were held from the family 
residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Dr. E. V. Babb and the Rev. H. 
L. Kingman conducting the services.  Burial was in the Mountain View cemetery.  
Active pallbearers included Joe Byrd, Charlie Barron, F. G. Herron, Hugh 
McCauley, F. S. Holleman, Jr., B. A. Lowery, J. L. Lowery, and John Edwards.  
Mr. Sheppard had been a resident of Seneca for 24 years, and was held in high 
esteem.  A native of Grover, N. C., he was a son of the late William and 
Adeline Whisonant Sheppard of that section.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. 
Edna Wood Sheppard, and one son Dr. G. C. Sheppard, Jr.
