Obituary of SMITH, GEORGE FRANKLIN 1994 Oconee, SC

    SALEM - George Franklin Smith, 80 of 232 Boones Creek Road, died Tuesday, 
December 6. 1994 at his home.  Born in Salem, he was a retired employee of the 
S.C. Highway Department and a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church.  He was 
the husband of Jessie Heaton Smith of the home, and a son of the late John 
Lewis and Jane Barker Smith.  Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, 
Donnie Smith of Salem; brothers, Ralph and Ray Smith of Salem; sisters, Nan 
Smith, Ola Bell Reid, Johnnie Lee Talley, Irene Alexander and Sue Long, all of 
Salem; and four grandchildren.  Graveside services will beat 2 p.m. Thursday at 
the Boones Creek Baptist Church cemetery.  The body is at Davenport Funeral 
Home, where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The 
family is at the home.
