Obituary of SHELOR, BERTHA SCHUMACHER 1961 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, February 22, 1961 Walhalla Native Taken By Death Mrs. Bertha Schumacher Shelor, 73, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William F. Rochester, in Clemson early Saturday morning. Mrs. Shelor had been in her usual health and her death came suddenly and unexpectedly, apparently in her sleep. She was born and reared in Walhalla, and was a retired bookkeeper. She was a daughter of the late Otto H. and Sophia Rieppe Schumacher. She was a member of the Clemson Lutheran church. Surviving are Mrs. Rochester; one brother, Johnny Schumacher of Walhalla; also Mrs. Scott Patterson of Greensboro, N.C., whom she had reared; two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at St. John's Lutheran church in Walhalla, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. E. D. Stockman of Clemson. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park.
