Obituary of ROACH, ROY GRANT 1965 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, September 15, 1965 Rites Conducted For Roy Roach Roy Grant Roach, 25, a native of Walhalla, was electrocuted Saturday while at work at the Mohawk Plant of J. P. Stevens and Co., Inc., at Clemson. Son of Codie and Cassie Fricks Roach of the Bear Swamp community near Walhalla, he was born in Walhalla and lived in Seneca before he moved to Pendleton in July. He was a member of Coneross Church of God at Walhalla. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Mrs. Jean Bruce Roach; a son, Christopher Grant Roach of the, home; a stepson, David Ricky Reese of the home; a stepdaughter, Terry Lynn Reese of the home; five brothers, Ray, Ernest, Arthur, Ralph and Codie Roach Jr. of Walhalla; and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Gillespie and Miss Patricia Roach of Walhalla. Funeral services were conducted Monday at Coneross Church of God by Rev. Frank Knight, Rev. Carl Pointer and Rev. Frank Rochester. Burial was in the Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Clyde Looney, Frank Shaw, Wash Summey, John Powell, Joe Owens and Lawrence Loudermilk.
