Obituary of ROGERS, JOSEPHINE CROWE 1962 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, June 12, 1962 Rites Conducted For Mrs. Rogers Mrs. Josephine Crowe Rogers, 63, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Chastain, Rt. 1, Walhalla, Sunday, after several weeks illness. She was born in the Salem community and was the daughter of the late Tom and Linda Edney Crowe. She was a member of Mountain View Wesleyan Methodist Church. Her husband, Charlie E. Rogers, died in 1958. Survivors in addition to the daughter are five sons, C. S. and Frank Rogers of Walhalla; Derrill, Clyde and Doyle, all of Greenville; a stepson, Paul of Canton, N. C.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Hassie White of Greenwood and Mrs. Ethel Roach of Greenville; four Elisha Crowe of California; Dyar Crowe of Landis, N. C., Edward and Clarence Crowe of Salem a sister, Mrs. Bessie Garrett of Danville, Va., 28, grandchildren children and seven great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Monday at the Mountain View Church by the Rev. Dave Wilson and the Rev. J. Melvin Green. Burial was church cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers.
